NHL Picks Canucks will push Canadiens losing streak to three

vs. , 7 p.m. ETThrough the first 18 games of the 2015-16 NHL season the Montreal Canadiens have looked like an unstoppable force, winning 13 games and losing only three in regulation. And they have been able to do that while only having all-world goalie Carey Price available for half of their games. They've already won as many games this season when Price did not start (six) than they did all of last season (when they only won six out of 17 games when Price did not start).Part of that has been because their offense has taken a huge step forward this season (second in the NHL in goals scored entering play on Monday), and part of that is because backup goalie has been one of the biggest surprises Mike Scott Jersey in the league, allowing no more than two goals in any game in each of his first seven starts. But the NHL season is full of peaks and valleys, and teams that look unbeatable during one stretch are eventually going to hit a bit of a wall and lose a few games. Over the past few games, we're starting to see that a little with Condon and the Canadiens. They're not going to keep winning games at a 72 percent clip all season. They're not that good. Nobody is. Every team, even the very best ones, is going to lose three or four games in a row at some point. The Canadiens might be entering one of those stretches right now.Entering play on Monday the Canadiens have dropped two in a row and three out of their past five while Condon has surrendered seven goals in his past two. He allowed just 11 goals in his first seven games. It's that fall back to earth that is going to give a slumping Canucks team an opportunity to break out of its recent losing skid that has seen them drop five out of their past six games.Like their season as a whole, the Canucks probably haven't been quite as bad as the record indicates and have been involved in a ton of close games that could have gone either way. So far, just about all of them are going against them. They've already lost 10 one-goal games, including five of the six games that have gone to overtime. There is definitely an element of skill to winning those close games and winning in overtime, but no team is going to lose -- or win -- every single one of them, and those breaks tend to even themselves out over the course of the season. It's only a matter of time until Vancouver starts having some of those games fall in its favor. They goal-scoring to this point has been there for the Canucks, and with Condon starting to struggle a bit for the Canadiens they Furkan Korkmaz Jersey should be able to get a few in on Monday to snap out of their recent slump. Pick: Canucks 4, Canadiens 2The rest of Mondays Picks 3, 2 4, 2 3, 1 2, 1 4, 3
